Myra E. Kirkland, 85, of Lake City died April 13, 2011. She was born in Macclenny to Albert Kirkland and Eula Thomas Kirkland on March 31, 1926. Myra was a native of Macclenny and a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a graduate of Baker County High School and the University of Florida.

Mrs. Kirkland was a public school teacher for 15 years. She loved reading, arranging flowers and traveling, and was predeceased by siblings Wilbur Kirkland, Emery Kirkland, Anna Marguerite Waters and Clarice McGregor.

Survivors include children Kirk (Linnette) Webster of Lake City and Scott (Dianna) Hinson of Glen St. Mary; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held April 16 at 10:00 am at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Macclenny with Bishop Scott Hinson officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Macclenny. Ferreira Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
