Julia Francis Combs was born February 21st, 1850. Departed this life at the home of her daughter Mrs. A.D. Cox east of Jameson, Mo. March 5th, 1917. Age 68 years and 12 days. She was united in marriage to Wm. H. Chrisman June 27th, 1867. To this union nine children were born three sons and six daughters. The husband and three children precedes her to the better world. She united with the Christian church early in life and lived a devoted Christian life never tired of serving the Master. It was always her delight to lighten the load and brighten the way for someone.
Her home was in Kentucky and she was here visiting her two daughters, Mrs. A.D. Cox of near Jameson, Mo. and Mrs. J.G. Edwards of near Jamesport, Mo. and was sick only a few days. The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. A.D. Cox March 6th, 1917. And the body was taken back to the old home in Kentucky for burial. She leaves two sons Robert H. Chrisman of Berea, KY. and Wallace Chrisman of Panola, KY. and four daughters Mrs. A.D. Cox Jamesport, MO. Mrs. J.G. Edwards Jamesport, MO. Mrs. Dr. Wm. Best, Berea, KY. and Mrs. Hezzie Washburn a missionary in Africa and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her death. F.E.M. The Jameson Gem March 15, 1917
