Mrs. Willie Lee (Morris) Cato STATESBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Willie Lee Morris Cato, age 97, died Wednesday, May 4th, 2011, at the Brown's Health and Rehabilitation, under the care of Odyssey Hospice. She was born December 20, 1913, in Nelson, Ga. Mrs. Cato was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was known for her beautiful roses and her entertaining stories. Mrs. Cato lived most of her life in Statesboro, but spent her youth in Smyrna, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Cato; a grandson, Aaron Dean Cato; sisters, Bonnie Ruffin, Sally Adams, Rose Marie Morris; and a brother, Harley Morris. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Randy Akins of Brooklet; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy and Deborah Cato of Statesboro and Foy and Pat Cato of Mauldin, S.C.; her grandchildren, Randy Waters, Michael Cato, Connie Clark, Michelle Cato, Dana Roberts, Mark Cato, Jay Akins, Dave Akins and Wendy Faris; a brother, William P. Morris of Dallas, Ga.; 15 great-grandchildren and special friends, Frieda Driggers, Selma Miley, Naomi Jasalink. The family would like to thank the staff of Brown's Health and Rehabilitation for their love and care. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The graveside service and burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Trenton, S.C., with Elder Steve Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Darrel Cato, Don Cook, Remer Ellis, Vernon Cowart, Randy Waters and Austin Clark. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Odyssey Hospice, 810 Towne Park Drive, Suite 100, Rincon, Ga. 31326.
