David Henry Morris married Minnie M. Richardson (1874-1939) on February 16, 1913, in Windsor, Shelby County, Illinois. They had one daughter. David came to Illinois with his parents in 1874 and engaged in timber work until 1885. There was virgin white oak timber all along the Kaskaskia River and Sand Creek. He worked in the Maintenance Dept. of the Big 4 Railroad for several years. After he came to Windsor he was Chief of Police for many years. He enlisted in the Regular Army in June 1899 and joined Co. H of the 9th U.S. Inf. at Manila, P.I. He went to China with the regiment during the Boxer trouble. Was discharged in Pekin, China in 1902. He was a member of Windsor Lodge No. 322 A.F. & A.M. and also a member of the Methodist Church.
