Mrs. Blackburn was born in Thomas, Oklahoma, on September 9, 1909 and passed away August 31 in Bakersfield.
She traveled west in a covered wagon and made her last trip in a jet. She had lived in Taft for many years and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She was a dedicated volunteer for the West Kern Oil Museum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Blackburn; two daughters, Inez and Darlene, and two sons, Roy and Red, and a granddaughter, Delores_Inez_Galbraith. She is survived by two daughters, a son, a brother, fifteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Monday from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and again Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until service time.
