Harry M. Chambers 1892-1971 – Cathy Pringle's uncle, brother to Sybilla Chambers Probst
He was a carpenter and built at least two of the homes that he and his mother lived in. He built Studio Cottage by the Sea in Margate, NJ at 9006 Pacific Ave., Margate. In 2020 the building was still standing having been converted to apartments.
Cathy believes that he was married twice but does not remember either wife. He did not have any children.
Studio Cottage was a rooming house that was busy in the summer. It was a street away from the beach and had an unobstructed view of the ocean.
I have tried to piece together the timeline of his marriage to Clara ?
From the 1930 US Census Clara is listed as Harry's wife. According to the census she was 20 years old in 1930. Harry was 36.
Her age when first married was 18, making the year of the marriage 1928. Harry's age when first married was 28 so apparently, he was married before and Clara was his second wife.
If he was 28 when first married then he was married in or about 1920.
The 1920 US census does not mention a wife. Harry was 27.
City directory 1924 has no wife.
City directory 1929 Clara as wife.

City directory 1931, Clara as wife
City directory 1935, no wife
City directory 1938, Clara as wife, business Screen Co. (Margate Screen Co.? Ventnor Screen Co.?)

9609 ? Pacific Ave
