KOONTZ LAKE - Mildred June Cranmer, daughter of Albert and Florence Nellie (Mapes) Boyer, was born in Laramie, Wyoming, on September 4, 1910. She passed from this life on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in Republic County Hospital in Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 97 years. The family moved to Agenda, Kansas, when she was four years old. She attended school in Agenda and Clyde and then graduated 8th grade from Mahaska Grade School. Mildred worked for a number of families, caring for their homes, cooking meals and washing laundry. She married William Sculyer Cranmer on April 7, 1934. Two children were born to this union, Lois Ann and Clair Lyle (Bud). They moved to Indiana in October 1941, where they resided at Koontz Lake. Mildred was always busy keeping up with family and friends, enjoying church activities, crocheting, baking and gardening. In 2005 she moved back to Kansas where she resided at the Belleville Health Care Center. She was always ready to have company, eat out, or just go for a ride in the car. Mildred was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, William Sculyer in 1978, her son, Clair Lyle in 1991, and by her son-in-law, Winfred Zenger in 2000. She will be forever remembered by her daughter, Lois Zenger of Haddam, Kansas; grandchildren, Tim Zenger and wife, Lisa, Lanette Zenger, Vicki Garner, Karen Heck and Randy Cranmer; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the United Methodist Church, Haddam, KS, with Pastor Randy Jellison-Knock officiating. Burial will be at the Haddam City Cemetery. These arrangements were entrusted to Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.
