Mrs. Emma E. Funk, 88, of the Palm Apartments at 115 East Jackson street, Ottawa, Ill., died at 3:30 AM, March 27th in Ryburn-King hospital, where she had been ill a week of flu and heart disease.
Funeral services were conducted at the Gladfelter chapel, Dr. C.W. McClennand of the First Presbyterian church officiating. Burial was made in Ottawa Avenue cemetery, which was her request.
Mrs. Funk was born on a farm near Oskaloosa, Iowa, May 11th, 1858. She was the daughter of J.A. and Mary Bonnett Harrold, early residents of Iowa. She went to Ottawa, Ill., in 1940, and lived with her daughter Miss Bessie Funk.
Surviving Mrs. Funk are three daughters, Mrs. Mary Fortney of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Frances MacDonald of Long Beach, Wash., Miss Bessie Funk of Ottawa, Ill., two grandsons in Tulsa Oklahoma, one in Los Angeles, a granddaughter in Chetopa, Kansas and two great grandsons.
For many years Mr. and Mrs. Funk with their daughters lived in Eddyville, where Mr. Funk was in business. Mr. Funk passed away in 1906.
Mrs. Funk was a member of PEO Chapter DG of Eddyville, chapter EH of Ottawa conducted services at the grave.
