He had been a resident of Las Cruces since 1945 and had opened the Valley Machine Shop in 1946 operating it until 1971. At the time of his death, he wa owner of the CL Sales Service, selling shop machinery.
He was an elder of the Panlener Church of Christ in which he was very active for many years.
Survivors included his wife LoRene; two daughters: Johnnie Winnell Barrett of Springfield, MO, and Jean Jennings of Las Cruces; four brothers, three sisters, two granddaughters, two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Graham's Chapel with Homer Hailey of Tucson, AZ, Kenneth Marrs of Hercules, CA, and Jack Kirby of Las Cruces officiating.
Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
