Alfredo Erminio Calandra was born on May 27, 1875 and raised in Castilenti. He was the 2nd of 9 children
of Davide and Lucia Calandra. He had brothers Donato, Aurelio, Adalgiso & Cesare and sisters Cristina & Mary. Siblings Maria and Fioretto died as babies.
He was 20 when he married Maria Stefanucci, she was 19 and was from Penne, on April 19, 1896 in Castilenti, and three children were born there, including a set of twin girls born Feb. 7, 1899, however, one of the girls Amelia died a year later. His last child, Nora, with wife Maria, was born in 1915 when he was 40.
He had been married 22 years when Maria died on Jan. 28, 1918. He was naturalized on April 23, 1915.
Alfred registered for WWI, on Sep. 4, 1918, living at 105 E. Lancaster Ave, Berwyn, PA with son Davis O. He listed his birthday as May 27, 1875 & described himself as tall, with dark hair & dark eyes.
Daughter Nora was living with her brother Davis is Haverford Twp, PA. Assume all other daughters had married by 1930.
Alfred was 88 when he died July 21, 1963 in Philadelphia and is buried at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA. Clementine died in April 1979 in Philadelphia.

CALANDRA, Alfred E. 44, widow, a tailor, children Mamie 19, Davis O. 18, Nellie W. 13, Lucy 11, Emma 9, Ida 6, and Nora 4y 11m, were living on First Ave. in Easttown, PA. Alfred, Mamie & David were born in Italy and immigrated to America in 1901. All other children were born in PA.
