Norris Dame, 82, longtime Hobart business owner, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a brief illness.

He was born September 24, 1928 in Dunmore, Kentucky to Earl and Lillian Oleta (Blackwell) Dame. Norris joined the Air Force at the age of 17 and retired in 1968 with the rank of Staff Sargent. He married Ora Mae Allen on August 27, 1976 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Norris was employed by Oklahoma Department of Agriculture as a Meat Inspector. He owned Mr. Porky's BBQ, from 1979 to 1990. He was known as "Mr. Porky" and "The Whistling Chef". Norris was a member of the Washington Street Baptist Church, Past Master Mason of Hobart Lodge #198, and member of the American Legion Post #0213 in Oklahoma City. He was an avid musician, composer and performer.

Survivors include his wife, Ora Mae Dame of the home; four daughters, Mary Ann Remier and husband Jim, Hobart, Oklahoma; Carol Semiglasgow and husband Alex, Austin, Texas; Linda Wheeler, Mayo, Florida; Kathy Martinez and husband Jerry, Yukon, Oklahoma; eleven brothers and sisters: Luvern Schlomer; Jewel Dame and wife Helen; Nelda Parker; Lillian Roberts; Wanda Coon; Mary Tanner; Earlene May; Diane Doll; Roger Dame and wife Dorothy; Linda Mahaney; Nancy Garner and husband Kenny, all of Kentucky;
one brother-in-law, Paul Allen, Hobart, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Norris was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilma Marlene Dame.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Washington Street Baptist Church with Jim Flynn officiating. Burial will follow in the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Hobart, Oklahoma.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday evening, May 10, 2011.
