Lucy Wright, of Winchester, CT as she is identified in her marriage, is separately stated in the Colebrook, CT vital records as born Oct. 7, 1756. But the record does not state where. New research confirms she was the apparent youngest child of John and Prudence (Deming) Wright then of nearby Goshen where the birth of 9 older children are recorded. Her parents later resided at Winchester, CT but her birth is not recorded in either Goshen or Winchester.

Lucy's father died testate at Winchester in 1784. His will and probate record was first sloppily recorded by the clerk of the probate court with daughter Lucy written as "Lucia" or "Lucier" in the will. The second and clearly legible recording in the same probate volume was made by son-in-law Elijah Rockwell Esq., Justice of the Peace, in which Lucy is firmly written as John's daughter Lucy. [Norfolk PD, Vols. 1-2, 1:23-28 (1st recording), 1:71-76 (2nd recording)].

On 19 Jan. 1775 at north adjacent Colebrook, CT, Lucy m. Elijah Rockwell, s. of Capt. Joseph and Anne, or Anna (Dodd) Rockwell, b. 14 Nov. 1744 at East Windsor, CT. He d. 2 Aug. 1742 at Colebrook (g.s.) where Lucy also d. 25 May 1830 (g.s.) Six recorded children of the family at Colebrook.
