Laura Miller, 77, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park, Davenport. Memorial services in celebration of her life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, April 21st, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, with Rev. David Turner officiating. Laura's family will greet friends from 3 PM until time service. Inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Laura was born in 1934 in Clayton, Iowa to Elmer and Evelyn Bishop. She married Donald Junior Miller on March 13, 1954 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport. She worked in administration at Snap On Tools, Davenport for many years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye's fan, and also enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; daughters, Peggy Fulton and Teresa (Kevin) Marxen, sons, Brian (Tammy) Miller and Bret (Patti) Miller, grandchildren, Stephanie Goettsch, Katlyn Goettsch, Justin Marxen and Amanda Marxen, and great-grandsons, Isaiah and Mason, all of Davenport; sister, Ramona Cramer of Muscatine; Dixie Lane of Davenport; Lester Brenner of Wilton, Iowa; and her special friend, Shelby Schaeffer. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremiah Dibbern, her parents, and four brothers.
