aught school in Beldenville school 1867, first lived at Hudson, then River Falls township, then Beldenville around 1860. The Joseph Severance farm was located on Thurston Hill (Trimbelle section 11). He enlisted in the Civil War at River Falls from December 29, 1863 to June 17, 1865 12th WI A. Has the best 4 acres of corn in Pierce County in July 1874. In 1877 In the summer of 1877, Joseph had bad luck. First his horse was poisoned in his pasture, second his house was set on fire, but put out and third his entire house was set on fire and the family had barley enough time to get out. hauling pork to Stillwater in January 1882., builds an addition to house in Sept. 1891. Joseph left the Beldenville area for Oregon in 1896. His farm was sold to Joseph Maier.
