Esther May Bayles, 85, of village Square Apt 1G, Elkhart, died of natural causes, at 4 pm Friday, March 14, 1997 at Bridgewood Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Elkhart, where she had resided since Feb 28, 1997. Mrs Bayles had been ill for four years.
She was born on April 20, 1911 in Elkhart to Rev Earl Harold and Edna Irene (Bayles) Eversole.
In 1929, she married Howard L Brock, Sr. He preceded her in death in 1951.
On Aug 14, 1983 she married Gordon LeRoy Bayles in New Paris.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs Evelyn May Gilbert of Goshen; two sons, James Douglas Brock of Elkhart and Howard L Brock, Jr of Tuscon, Ariz; two sisters, Mrs Fred (Evelyn) Weidner of Grant, MI and Mrs Catherine I James of Tuscon, AZ; eight grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Two sons, Richard and Earl Edward Brock, preceded her in death.
Mrs Bayles was a machine operator at Taylor Products, retiring in 1968.
She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Elkhart, In.
Visitation and Funeral services were held Monday, March 17, 1997 at the Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa at 3 pm. Rev Larry Lund and Rev Edgar Allen officiated. Burial was held at the Olive (West) Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Bethel Assembly of God, Elkhart, IN.
