EVELYN CATHERINE MCCARTHY HOBBS BULL

EDDINGTON – Evelyn Catherine McCarthy Hobbs Bull, 77, died Sept. 6, 2006, at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 1, 1929, in Orono, the daughter of Arthur W. and Lillian (Graham) Fowler.

Evelyn was raised in Orono and graduated from St. Mary’s School, Class of 1948. She was an active member of East Orrington Congregational Church. Evelyn was involved in the visitation ministry and coordinated the shawl ministry. She was a member of the “SALT” Three T group.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, James W. Bull of Eddington; four daughters, Peggy McCarthy-Hobbs and husband, Leo Karczewski, of Washington, Maine, Catherine Hobbs and her family, Hugh, Wyoming and Richard Henley, of Del Ray Beach, Fla., Bev Hobbs Wilson and husband, John, of Hampden and Rebecca Hobbs and partner, Ron Katham, of Winterport; two special grand-children, Paul Hobbs Wilson and Kimberly Catherine Wilson, both of Hampden, they were her pride and joy; four sisters, Hilda Ryan and husband, Bernard, of Moncton, New Brunswick, Sister Madonna of Portland, Margaret Waddell of Clovis, N.M., and Theresa Woznik and husband, Ted; special niece, Alisha of Eddington; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by loving husbands, David J. McCarthy and Roland B. Hobbs; three brothers, Joseph, John and Frank Fowler.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the East Orrington Congregational Chu-rch, Orrington, with Pastor Carl Schreiber officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the Fellowship Hall after the service.

Interment will be at a later date at Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Augusta.
