Death of a Soldier
Isaac Clem, who resided about 8 miles southwest of Clinton, in Clinton Township, died on last Saturday night. He had been sick ever since early last winter.

He was born in this state in 1843, and had been a resident of this county since 1858. He was an old soldier of the War of the Rebellion, and a member of the Masonic Fraternity. He was one of the jurors that tried Toff Darnall on the charge of murdering Melvin Ingram on July 12, 1900; the jury failing to agree upon a verdict.

Mr. Clem was about 59 years of age, and said to be a good citizen and kind neighbor. He was a member of the U.B. Church.
He had been twice married, his second wife surviving him.

The funeral occurred at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at his late residence. His remains were taken in charge by the Masons and interred in the Shirley Cemetery.
