Statesboro, Ga. - Elder Conrad McCorkel, age 92, died on Wednesday in the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a retired minister and a construction superintendent. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wauweese Strickland McCorkel; a son, Jimmy D. McCorkle; three sisters, Myrtle Tootle, Velma Groover and Marie Lanier; two brothers, Ray McCorkel and Thalon McCorkel.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jeannie McCorkle of Nevils, Ga.; a grandson, Chad McCorkle (Tanya) of Register; two granddaughters, Heidi (Dale) Shaw of Keystone Heights, Fla., and Skie (Joe) Hollingsworth of Statesboro; three great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Willette and Elder Jack Anderson of Statesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnnie and Cleta McCorkel of Statesboro; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Elder Jack Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
