W.M. Edwards Is Victim of Sudden Stroke on Tuesday
W.M. Edwards, affectionately known as "Uncle Matt" died suddenly Tueday about one o'clock. Mr. Edwards was returning to his work as bookkeeper for the Hoffmann Heading and Stave Factory and had stopped his car at the entrance to the grounds to talk to a passerby when he was suddenly stricken. Leo Wrey bookkeeper at the Gulf Refining Company wholesale house, located nearby, saw that something was wrong and went to the scene. Finding Mr. Edwards in serious condition, he drove him to town for medical attention; but Mr. Edwards passed away before a physician could be found. Mr. Edwards had been in bad health for sometime, and a few weeks ago was in serious condition, but had improved considerably of late, and had been able to attend to his duties, apparently being on the road to recovery, therefore his sudden death was a distinct shock to the community.

Duffell of Tyler, a daughter, Mrs. Sam Gresham, of Okay, Ark., and four sons; Jim, Matt, Jr., and Paul, all of this city and WIll Edwards of Tyler. Numerous other relatives also survive.
At press time no arrangements had been made for the funeral services.

Husband of Jennie Lee Wacaser. Marrried Jan 29, 1886 in Bonham, TX.
