William Harold Boney, a long time resident and insurance businessman in Colorado City, died Tuesday at Root Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 65.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the First Christian Church with the Reverend Jim Hill, pastor of the church officiating. Burial followed in the Colorado City Cemetery under direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Boney was born May 29, 1913 in Merkel. He was a stock farmer and had been in business as a Chevron jobber since 1961, and had owned and operated Boney Insurance since 1959. He was a past member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanas Club. He was a member of the First Christian Church where he had served as Deacon and Elder. He was at the time of his death an honorary elder.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Plaster Boney.

He is survived by his wife, Fayrel; two daughters, Mrs. B. R. Lindley of Abilene and Mrs. John R. Erwin of El Paso; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Perry Loper, Pete Warren, Shorty Pace, Willis Jones, O. B. Trulock and Lloyd McKee.
