Harvey had a previous wife, Amelia A. Adair that he married on 28 Aug 1864 in Noble County, Indiana. After the death of Amelia, Rosa helped raise the children from that marriage namely, Alelia (Lillie) M. Thomas, and Leslie Albert Thomas. Rosa and Harvey had 2 known children of their own namely, Milner Thomas and William E. Thomas.
