Nellie Claudine Allen Rousey of Oxford, GA died Monday April 11, 2011 at Newton Medical Center. She was born on December 11, 1921 in Julliette, GA to the late Dewey and Alma Wilkes Smith. She worked at Porterdale Mill and Covington Molding for many years. She was of the Baptist faith and loved music and loved to sing.
Mrs. Rousey is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Otis Harper of Covington GA, sons and daughter-in-laws Kenneth D. and Linda Allen of Oxford, GA, Gary M. and Jane Allen of Covington GA, Larry and Diane Allen of Covington, GA, Danny K. and Rhonda Allen of Oxford GA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband James Henry Allen, sister Edna Gregory and brother James Thomas Smith.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Central Community Church with her grandsons Rev. Darrell Allen and Rev. Chris Allen officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday April 13, 2011 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.
