ALBUQUERQUE---Elmer Carl Ahrens, 82, died Tuesday, June 18, 1996, in Albuquerque.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. with the funeral service at 3 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randall Golter officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Gardens in Carlsbad.
Services are under the direction of Vista Verde Mortuary of Rio Ranch, N.M.
He was born January 18, 1914, to William John and Annie Jane Voelkel Ahrens in El Paso. He married Veloise Turner on December 7, 1953, in El Paso.
Mr, Ahrens was parts manager for International Harvester Co. before he retired in 1981. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church,
Survivors include his wife, Veloise Ahrens of the home; sons, Bill Ahrens of Malaga and Kenzie Ahrens of Susanville, Calif.; daughter, Carlyn Statler of Dewey, Ariz; brother, Louis Ahrens of El Paso; sister, Helen Jones of Oakland, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the building fund st Grace Lutheran Church, Albuquerque, or the American Heart Association.
