Barb Williams, 63, of Washington, Ia., died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Halcyon House after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 2, 1937, in Washington, she was the daughter of Earl and Juanita Pieper Redlinger. She married Dave Williams on Sept. 1, 1956, in Washington.
Mrs. Williams was a 1955 graduate of Washington High School and lived most of her life in Washington. She was a homemaker and also worked in the Washington School District for 25 years before retiring in 2000.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Connie Gorius of Coralville, Peggy Chockley of Stronghurst, Ill., and Jennifer Williams of Washington; four sons, Roger Williams of Dallas, Ga., Jim Williams of Washington, Mark Williams of Hillsboro, Texas, and Dennie Williams of Washington; five grandsons; four step-grandchildren; one brother, Duane Redinger of Washington; two sisters, Marge Marshall of Burlington and Mary Louise Ramseyer of Phoenix, Ariz.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and one brother.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Williams will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church in Washington, with the Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
Memorials have been established for Washington County Hospice and Halcyon House.
