Heston Dee Thomas, 83, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center in Bryan. Interment will follow the services at Little Flock Cemetery in Leon County. Visitation will be held on Sunday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Heston was born in Teague on December 1, 1927 to Dee & Cora Foley Thomas. He lived in the Farrar and Jewett areas until moving with his family at the age of twelve to Pasadena. He graduated Pasadena High School and soon went into the U.S. Air Force near the close of World War II. Mr. Thomas married Robena Deskin on August 19, 1955, and shared over fifty-five wonderful years together. He worked as a State Trooper for the Texas Department of Public Safety and later spent over 30 years as a heavy equipment sales representative for Bado Equipment in Houston. During the later part of his career he also owned T-6 Enterprises, an oil field crane service. Mr. Thomas moved to his ranch near Teague in 1979 to enjoy hunting, fishing and raising cattle. He remained there until 2006 when he and his family moved to Bryan.

Heston Thomas lived his life to honor and serve the Lord Jesus Christ first, and, in teaching by example, taught his family and those around him to do the same. He left an ever-lasting impression on everyone he knew, always teaching to "live your life with honesty and integrity". Mr. Thomas was a loving and dedicated husband and a devoted and nurturing father to all six of his children and ten grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dessa Ratliff, Lois Welborn, and Louise Lacour; and one great-granddaughter, Eden Nichole Lewis.
