Retired from textile industry
Clara Pennington Gault, 87, of 318 Whites Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at her home.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of William H. Gault and daughter of the late Roland Pennington and Linda (Weed) Bright Pennington. She was retired from the textile industry and a member of Draytonville Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Marie G. Johnson and husband, Olin, of Gaffney; a grandchild, Pam Sarratt and husband, Greg, of Gaffney; two great-grandchildren, Erica Kirby and Deanna Kirby; a great-great grandchild, Kendall Kirby; two brothers, Alfred (Bill) Pennington and wife, Edith, of Gaffney and Ted Pennington of Gaffney.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gault was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Pennington; and four brothers, Roland Pennington, Roy Pennington, Grover Pennington and Niles Pennington.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, at 4 p.m. in Draytonville Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Robert Ivey and Jamie Ellis officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 3, from 7-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Draytonville Baptist Church, 179 Draytonville Church Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
