Burial was at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in Lindley Prairie Cemetery near Fair Play under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield. Mr. Bugg, 83, was born in Bear Creek, the first born of Leonard and Gola Bugg, and died at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla.

He graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1945. He married Kathrine Dyer in Feb. 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 18, 1952 to Dec. 29, 1953, making corporal. He was a semi truck driver, working most of those years for Dick's Transfer of Kansas City. He retired early and he and his wife wintered in McAllen, Texas, and was a third-degree mason. He lived in Raytown until Jan. 20, 2010, when he moved to live with his brother in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Survivors include his brother, James Bugg and wife Marilyn; a sister, Rose Krtek; a sister-in-law, Thelma Bugg; several nieces and nephews, Randal Bugg and wife Shelly of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jeanette Green, Bolivar, Leland Bugg and wife Shirley of Stockton, Janice Hamilton and husband Donald of Modesto, Calif., Bradley Krtek and wife Mary Jane and Dennis Krtek, all of Kansas City and Larry Cooper of California; two stepdaughters, Sheila Saindon and her three children, James, Kathy and D-anne, and her six great-grandchildren, all of Wichita Kan., and Paula Gallegos and her three children, Debra, Donna and Bruce and her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of Springfield; and five cousins, Casey Walker and wife Barbara, Berry Bolen and wife Betty and Donna Sanders and husband John, all of Fair Play, Donald Bradbury of Hesperia, Calif., and JoEllen King of Exeter, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; two sisters, Frieda and Mildred; a brother, Leland; and nephews, Jerry, Jimmy and Donnie.
