Zella Lucille Pool passed away on February 23, 2006. She was born on September 5, 1915 to Jacob and Mary Godtel in Clay Center, Nebraska. She married Dr. W. E. Pool in Wynnewood, Oklahoma in 1939 and started working at the Pool Memorial Hospital. Zella was a Registered Nurse and worked as the charge nurse of the night shift at Lindsay Municipal Hospital for ten years after raising her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Lindsay Mother's Club. Her life verse was Psalm 19:14. She has fought the good fight and finished the course, and kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness; II Tim. 4:7, 8A.
Zella is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, one brother, Dr. Russell Godtel.
She is survived by her children; Dr. Bill and Harriet Pool of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Dr. Jobe and Jenna Dee Martin of Dallas, Texas, Jake and Jane Pool of Lindsay, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Heather Pool, Laurie Crawford, Michelle Buchanan, Dawna Blue, Taryn and Mirren Martin, Gene, Russell and Daniel Pool, and twelve grandchildren; Lauren, Kacee, Katie Crawford, Brandon, Jamil, Jadyn, Kristopher Blue; Brent, Melanie, Elizabeth, David, and Allyson Buchanan.
Services for Zella were held at the Green Hill Cemetery last Friday, February 24, 2006.
