Covey McPherson, 85, passed away Monday, May 3, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones in her home. Service: 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 S. Main St., Grapevine. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Covey was born June 29, 1925, to T.A. and Mattie Ashmore. She was a 1943 graduate of Keller High School. She married the love of her life, James Starling McPherson, better known as Curley to most in 1944. They raised two sons, Ted and Terry McPherson, in Southlake. To most, she was known as Covey, Momma to some and Mamma to others. Covey worked for 30 years at Texas Instruments in Richardson and retired in 1989 at the age of 64. She was most proud of her family and her home. Life was not always easy for her but she never complained. Curley preceded her in death in January 1992.
Survivors: Sons, Ted McPherson and Terry McPherson and his wife, Terry Lynn, all of Arlington; grandchildren, Kyle McPherson and wife, Heather, of Allen, Cassie Frazer and husband, Scott, of North Richland Hills and Amanda Allen of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Abigail Frazer of North Richland Hills and Makenna McPherson of Allen; and brothers-in-law, Robert McPherson of Ponder and Kelly McPherson of Justin.
