Norman D. Bottum
Williamstown, Mass - Norman Dunlap Bottum, 84, of 6 Prospect St. native of Shaftsbury Vt and retired superintendent of the poultry department of Mount Hope Farm died Tuesday afternoon at North Adams Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Mr. Bottum was the son of the late H. Merle Bottum and Fidelia Dunlap Bottum. He went to Williamstown in 1917. He was a life member of Williamstown Grange and was also affiliated with the Grange executive board. He had attended the Central Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife the former Mildred Niles of Shaftsbury, two sons, Merle N. of Williamstown and Forrest H. of Utica N Y, a sister Mrs. Stella Barret of Babylon L I two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2:30 pm in the Williamstown Methodist Church with the Rev Glenn K Muquay former pastor of the Central Baptist Church and the Rev George F Camp interim pastor of the Baptist Church officiating. A special Grange service was held this morning at Hopkins Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Center Shaftsbury cemetery with prayers at the grave at 4:45pm Thursday. Friends may call a the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.
