Harvey V. Miller, 81, of Cambridge, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Cambridge. The Rev. John Vidakovich will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Home patient activity fund.
He was born on Feb. 21, 1921, in Cambridge, the son of Wallace and Glen (Sturm) Miller. On Feb. 9, 1942, he married Jennie Aby in Rolla, Mo. She died March 28, 2002.
Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds he received in action while serving in New Guinea. He had been an electrician with Swint Communications in Geneseo until retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church, and the Cambridge American Legion. He enjoyed camping and fishing, radio controlled airplanes, playing cards and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Lorin) Stevens, Bloomington, Ill., and DeeDee (Rod) Huber, LaFayette; five grandchildren, Lisa Ann Johnson of Bloomington, Kristi Stevens of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew Stevens of Bloomington, Ill., Rhonda Lord of Cambridge, and Troy Schultz of Geneseo; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Maynard and Betty Smith, both of East Columbia, Texas; and a brother, Marlin Munson, Cambridge. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers
