Caroline Cannon "Missy" Smoak, 50, of St. Matthews, died in the early afternoon on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Reverend Henry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul Barnhill, Lee Carroll, David Chinners, Allen Gray, John McEachern, Robert Mirmow, Jack Rose, Eddie Thompson, Boyce Till and Lewis Buster Way.

Missy Smoak was born in Atlanta, Ga., a daughter of Carol Jeffords Cannon and the late Robert Edward Cannon Sr.

She graduated from Willington Academy in 1979 and the University of South Carolina, Class of 1983, with a B.S. Degree in Marketing and Management.

She was the owner and president of The Cannon Company, Inc., a manufacturer's representative for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Equipment. The Cannon Company, Inc. serves the state of South Carolina, specializing in school classroom air-conditioning.

She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in St. Matthews, the Orangeburg Assembly and the USC Alumni Association.

Missy enjoyed Carolina Gamecock Football, politics, loving and supporting her family, spending time at her home with her dogs, her church, and most of all, strengthening her relationship with Christ.

Mrs. Smoak is survived by her most loving husband, Walker Marston "Marty" Smoak, Jr. a daughter, Caroline Smoak (Justin) Farmer; a son, Robert Marston Smoak; her mother, Carol Jeffords Cannon, of the Methodist Oaks Community in Orangeburg; and, her brother, Robert Edward Cannon Jr. of Columbia.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 2, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home From 6 to 7:30 p.m.
