Orangeburg - Mrs. Joysene Sheppard Berry, 74, of 1687 Longwood Plantation, Orangeburg, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at Double Branch Baptist Church in Orangeburg with the Rev. David Royster and the Rev. Paul Reed officiating. Burial will be in Double Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Orangeburg. Mrs. Berry was born Sept. 16, 1925 in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Breese Sheppard and the late Betty Houck Sheppard. She was a member of Double Branch Baptist Church and was former owner operator of Berry's Wholesale. Survivors include her husband, J. McAdoo Berry of Orangeburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Toby Proveaux of Raleigh; three sons, J. Michael Berry of Pinehill community; Larry M. and Mary Berry; Dickie and Cynthia Berry, all of Orangeburg; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Billie S. Farr of Orangeburg. Friends may call at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
