William was the son of Stephen A. Moore and Jeannette (Bowers) Moore (born Apr 1829).

In the 1900 U.S. Census, Stephen and Jeanette were living in Baltimore City, Maryland, with the family of their daughter, Capitola (Moore) Price (born Feb 1858). Capitola was born in Ohio. She married John J. Price (born Mar 1847) about 1884.

Stephen and Jeannette also had a daughter, Lilly F. (Moore) Snodeal (born Nov 1861). She was born in Maryland. Lilly married George R. Snodeal (born Apr 1858) on 14 Sept 1880 in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia. He was the son of John Snodeal (1822-1887) and Caroline (Rhul) Snodeal. In the 1900 and 1910 U.S. Censuses, George and Lilly were living in Baltimore City, Maryland. In the 1930 and 1940 U.S. Censuses, the widowed Lillie was living in Baltimore City, Maryland. George and Lillie's daughter, Jean E. Snodeal, is #112592737.

William [1st] married Susan Selina (Powell) Moore (3 Sept 1860 - 29 May 1929) on 12 Aug 1879 in Zion Reformed Church, Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland.

William [2nd] married Mazie Evaline (McFillin) Moore Allen (10 Sept 1916 - 9 Dec 1977) on 1 Sept 1932 in Berkeley Station, Berkeley County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of James Henry McFillin (born c.1871) and Grace Lee (May) McFillin (born c.1892).

Mrs. V.A. Shade, of Martinsburg, was the informant on William's death certificate.

The known children of William and Susan were:

1) Emma Moore (11 Nov 1880 - 7 July 1880) was born in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia. Emma died of spasms at the age of 7 months. The dates can't be correct, but they are both in the records.

2) Lillie J. Moore (born 21 June 1884) was born in Berkeley County, West Virginia.

3) Lena S. Moore (born 25 May 1890) was born in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia.
