Roy W Hockey, 75, Gettysburg R. 3, died suddenly at his home on the Seven Stars Road southeast of Seven Stars at 11 Friday morning.
The Gettysburg Fire Department ambulance was dispatched but death had already occurred. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been under a physician’s care for sometime.
A native and lifelong resident of Adams County, he had been employed a number of years as a fireman for the former Gettysburg Furniture Factory. HE was also employed for some time at the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. Prior to his retirement due to an industrial accident, he was employed at the former Victor Products Co.
Surviving are his wife the former, Mary K. Stoner; three children, Henry W. Hockey, Barrington, Ill.; Cleason W. Hockey, Gettysburg R. 3, and Darlene K. Speelman, Gettysburg R. 3 and three grandchildren. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 from the Monahan Funeral Home with the Rev. E. Edward Keyser, officiating. Burial will be in Flohr’s Cemetery.
