Mrs. J. W. Harrison Dies Tuesday

Mrs. J. W. Harrison died Tuesday morning at the home of her son, J. S. Harrison in Hobart, O. T., aged 63 years. Although Mrs. Harrison's health had been so bad for a long time and for months at a time death was expected at any time, the news Tuesday was a great shock to her daughters, Mmes. Nathan Corder of Corder and G. Ray Beatty of this city. For, on but the day before, they had received a letter saying that her condition was so much improved and that she had been moved from the hospital to the home of her son. On Tuesday morning she was taken sick and before the doctor could arrive died in her son, Joe's, arms.

Judge Harrison and his family have lived in the county always, till the last few years, and they are widely connected and a very wide circle of friends and acquaintances have sympathized during the long months of illness Mrs. Harrison suffered. Judge Harrison and son Hugh accompanied the remains here Thursday and the funeral was held at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nathan Corder, near Corder, conducted by Rev. L. J. Harris, pastor of the Corder Baptist church, and interment took place at the Corder cemetery. The services were largely attended. The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful. Mrs. S. A. Vermillion and Mrs. F. L. McCord assisted with the singing, which was beautiful. Mrs. Corder and Mrs. Beatty, daughters, were prostrated by the death of their mother. Besides these there are the following sons, each devoted to mother, to mourn her demise: J. S. and Hugh Harrison of Hobart, W. H. Harrison and Leslie of Colorado, and Dr. F. H. Harrison, surgeon in the U. S. Navy.

Mrs. Harrison, during her residence in Higginsville, was active in her church, and a large number here join many from over the county in sympathy for the surviving family.

C. W. Hutchason, W. M. McElroy and wife, Mrs. L. E. Hartman, Mrs. J. T. Harwood and others attended the funeral services from Higginsville.
