Thomas D. Bazley of Long Branch died last Wednesday after a sickness lasting fifteen years. The past fourteen years was spent in bed and in an invalid's chair. Mr. Bazley suffered from chronic rheumatism and got but little relief from the many remedies and treatments he tried. For years he had known that he would never recover but he remained cheerful through all his suffering. Mr. Bazley was 69 years old and was born at New York. In 1873 he went to Long Branch and got work as a plumber. A few years later he went in partnership with Joseph A. Burns and the business is still conducted by Mr. Burns' estate. Mr. Bazley was an ex-chief of the Long Branch fire department. A widow and seven children survive him.
