George W. Kennedy, age 74 years, a pioneer citizen of Cooke county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Lemon, three miles southeast of Burns City, about 5:10 o'clock Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock, Rev. A. E. Mabry officiating and Undertaker S. W. Gibson in charge of the interment.
Mr. Kennedy was well known in Gainesville, having resided here for more than a quarter of a century. He was highly respected by his friends and acquaintances, and his death is a matter of deep regret everywhere he was known. He is survived by his wife and five children, as follows: Mrs. John Lemon, Mrs. Mable Porter and Mrs. Minnie Crowder, all of the Burns City community; Jess Kennedy of Gainesville and Ed Kennedy of Dallas.
