CHAPMAN, PAUL C. Ypsilanti, MI Age 88 Passed away quietly on Monday July 29, 2013 at Gilbert Residence in Ypsilanti, MI. Paul was born November 1, 1924 in Ypsilanti, MI to Paul C. Chapman Sr. and Nellie Casselberry Chapman. On June 23, 1945, he married Donna Hebb and together they celebrated 68 years of marriage. Survivors besides his wife Donna include his sister Gladys Chapman Mast; sons Ralph/Nancy Chapman and Mark/Shirlee Chapman; grandchildren Paul/Lora Chapman, John/Gail Chapman, Todd/Kathy Chapman, Gregory Chapman, Patrick/Emily Chapman, Katharine/Alexander Kollias and Craig Chapman Jr.; great grandchildren Loren Chapman, Lynnae Chapman, Eric Chapman and Andrew Chapman. He was preceded in death by his sister Helen Chapman Coxford and his son Craig Chapman. Paul was honorably discharged from the US Navy where he served during WWII. He was a Past Commander and life member of the American Legion Post 282. He was also involved in Ypsilanti civic and social organizations which included the First Methodist Church of Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti City Council, Phoenix Lodge #13 F&AM, and Kiwanis Club of Ypsilanti. He was the former owner of Paul C. Chapman & Son Pontiac, Cadillac, Honda until his retirement in 1984. Paul loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many summers and every November at his cabin in Newberry, MI. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday August 2, 2013 at 12 Noon at the First United Methodist Church, 209 Washtenaw, Ypsilanti, MI.
