Reita Jane Stillwell

Reita Jane Stillwell, 87, of North Platte passed away Jan. 28, 2008, at Premier Estates. She was born March 25, 1920, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Benjamin F. and Myrtle Wilcox Baker. She married Orville W. Stillwell on Dec. 19, 1937, in Cheyenne where they lived until 1950. At that time they moved to North Platte and lived there until 1975. In 1975 until 2000 she lived in Marysville, Wash., and moved back to North Platte in 2000. Reita was a member of the Sarah Rebecca Lodge for more than 50 years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and crossword puzzles, and she was an excellent Scrabble player. Her faith and her family were very important, and she especially enjoyed all her grandchildren. Survivors include daughters Diane Harris of Omaha and Patricia (Tim) Cooper of North Platte; sons Robert (Barbara) Stillwell of Concrete, Wash., and Roy (Sariah) Stillwell of Marysville, Wash.; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Orville; daughter Nancy McPherson; son William (Bill) Stillwell; great-granddaughter Sara Ballard; sisters Odetta Gale, Ione Kelly Schwary, Cleo Kelly Hunter, Lilly Baker Ryan, Lucille Baker Morrell, Avis Baker, Betty Baker Hylback and Mary Baker McCrae; and brothers James Kelly, Earl Kelly, Reese Kelly, Edward Baker and Benjamin Baker Jr.A memorial has been established. Services will be 1 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Kim Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Adams and Swanson Funeral Home.
