Faye Ella Harris Lee

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor, Faye Ella Lee, passed away peacefully April 17, 1999 of natural causes.

She was born April 19, 1916 in Riverdale, Utah, the first of 11 children to David Oscar Harris and Vera Mae Parker Harris.

She was raised in Layton, Utah, educated in Davis County schools, graduating from Davis High in 1934 and Kaysville Seminary. She lived most of her life in South Weber, Clinton, Davis County and Ogden. The past four years she resided with her daughters in Salt Lake City.

She married Evan Dawson Ray, September 8, 1936. Later divorced.

She married Ray R. Hamblin. He died May 14, 1966.

She married Bud Lee, October 7, 1972. He died September 7, 1985.

Fay worked at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years as an aircraft mechanic/electrician and was proud of her civil service record. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, exploring the mountains on horseback, the fall hunting season campsite with her son, Don, her brothers and their families. She delighted in planting a garden and beautiful flowers, fishing, boating, trips to Lake Powell and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Mom's greatest treasure was her children and her sweet association with family and friends.

She was active in LDS Church. She served as Relief Society Counselor, Primary Teacher, Visiting Teacher. She exemplified charity and compassionate service. Throughout her life, she had great faith and a strong belief in her Savior Jesus Christ and followed his teachings. She supported family and relatives spiritually and financially in missionary service. She was grateful and proud of her pioneer heritage.

She is survived by her children, Joyce A. (Dale) Brown, Marilyn (Elvin) Atkinson, Darlene V. Ray, Salt Lake; Don E. (Cathy) Ray, Ogden. Also surviving are three sisters and six brothers, Mary (Bill) Anderson, Huntsville; Darell (Sam) Harris, Ogden; Doris (Spencer) Meldrum, Kaysville; sister-in-law, Annette (Eldon) Harris, Ogden; Ray (Norma) Harris, Huntsville; Lila Jean (Lon) King, Draper; Bill (BillyMae) Harris, Kaysville; Parker (Renee Harris, Joe (Majken) Harris, Huntsville; Bob (Bonnie) Harris, Roy; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She will be dearly missed by all who loved her and were touched by her cards and many acts of kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, husbands, and son, Don.
