Betty Newton Nantz, 79, of Mooresville, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Genesis ElderCare. She was born in Iredell County on March 22, 1929, the daughter of the late Marvin and Oma Alice Davis Newton. She was a cook at the Big Pig in Mooresville.
Mrs. Nantz was preceded in death by her husband, Shorty Nantz in 2002. Survivors include, sons, Mark Nantz and wife, Karen, of Mooresville and Morris Nantz and wife, Debbie, of Mebane; grandchildren, Gillian, Eric, Alexandra and Thomas; brother, Rev. Marvin Joe Newton of Mooresville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 11 at Laura Memorial Church of God with Rev. Frank Smith presiding. Burial will be held before the service at Glenwood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Laura Memorial Church of God, 2173 Charlotte Hwy., Mooresville, NC 28117. Neill Funeral Home is serving the Nantz family.
