Peggy graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1961. She enjoyed camping, especially her trips to Bar Harbor, and loved her trips to Hawaii. She was a dedicated homemaker, and especially enjoyed her new home.
In addition to her husband, Sheldon, she is survived by two children: a daughter, Kelly Jean Russell and her husband, Timmy, of Lincoln and a son, Andy L. Cole and his wife, Wendy, of Winn; three grandchildren, Amy Jean Russell, Emily Jane Russell and Cole Frederick Russell; a brother, Bill Hanscom and his wife, Cindy, of Lincoln; a brother-in-law, Otis Leavitt of Medway; several nieces and nephews. She also leaves close friends, Bette and Gary Tibbetts of Hampden.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Dale Leavitt; and her in-laws, Harland and Tena Cole. (Bangor Daily News posted 5/1/2011)
