Dr. Evan A Beckstrand 1917 ~ 2007 Dr. Evan A Beckstrand, age 89, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on January 31, 2007, due to natural causes.

Evan was born November 16, 1917 in Meadow, Utah to Nephi David and Mary Adams Beckstrand. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart of 55 years, Zola Bean Beckstrand.

He is survived by his five children, Bruce (Debi) of Fillmore, Utah; Tanya of Denver, CO; Derk (Julie) of Provo, Utah; Cynthia of Salt Lake City; and Chere' (Myron) of North Ogden, Utah. Also survived by his 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Evan and Zola were married in the Salt Lake Temple. They served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cape May, New Jersey and later served together as temple workers in the Manti Temple for 10 years where Evan also served as a sealer.

Evan served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II and moved to Fillmore, Utah at the end of the war to raise a family and set up his practice as a dentist. Evan served the people of Fillmore as a dentist for almost 50 years and was also active in church and civic responsibilities. He served as the Stake Young Men's President, in a Bishopric, and numerous teaching responsibilities. Evan always enjoyed the outdoors and spent many happy hours running his farm and ranching business, where he gained recognition for his prime registered Angus cattle. He also loved camping and horseback riding in the mountains around Fillmore and Meadow, Utah. Evan's life was characterized by his unfailing concern for the welfare and happiness of his family and all those he came in contact with. Our father was a wonderful story teller and was very proud of his family and always made sure that they knew it. He always felt blessed with a very rich, full life. Evan loved his family dearly.
