Irene Lockhart, 81, of Springfield died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at St. John's Hospital. She was born Nov. 10, 1916, in Carbon, Okla., the daughter of Otto and Oddessa Smith Stowe Sr. She married Quentine Caldwell in 1952 in Springfield. Mrs. Lockhart was a homemaker and a graduate of Feitshans High School.
Survivors: husband, Quentine; two brothers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: St. John's AME Church, the Rev. Sammy L. Hooks officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
