Everette Rollen Mayhew, 96, of Mooresville died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004. Born Dec. 3, 1908 in Iredell County to the late George Washington and Carrie Sims Mayhew, he was a member of First Wesleyan Church where he served for many years on the local church board and the board of trustees. He was retired from Burlington Industries.

Mr. Mayhew was married for 63 years to Nellie Owens Mayhew, who preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 2004.

Survivors include two sons, Rev. James E. Mayhew of Grand Blanc, Mich. and Jimmie F. Mayhew of Mooresville; two stepsons, Fred G. King Sr. of Mooresville and Rev. Harold G. King of Statesville; 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Cleo Mayhew Gray, and a brother, Kenneth W. "Ned" Mayhew, preceded him in death.

A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 20 at Mooresville First Wesleyan Methodist Church. Burial followed in Glenwood Memorial Park.
