Our loving husband, step-father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Richard B. Averson, age 56, passed away September 15, 1990 in his favorite BYU room of a heart attack.

Born January 11, 1934 in Salt Lake City to Ernest and Della Pearce Averson. Married Ina Brunson Sheppard September 24, 1983 in Salt Lake City. He is an Elder in the LDS Church serving as a home teacher.

Graduated from East High and employed at Hercules for 29 years and was very proud of never missing a day sick. He loved hunting and fishing, and BYU sports.

Survived by his wife, Ina; step children, Shirleane, Bill and Susan Sheppard; sisters, Mrs John (Marjory) Cox, Mrs. David (Carol) Fuka; niece, Mrs. David (Susan) Lewis; and nephews, Blaine and Verla Cox, and Marcus Bailey.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., Hunter 27th Ward, 5000 West Pavant Ave (3735 So.). Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Wednesday, at the church 10:00 to 10:45 am. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 4 p.m., at the Fillmore City Cemetery.
