Jonathan's birth date comes from his daughter Mary Guntle's bible [Indiana DAR, Indiana Bible and Family Records Volumes 1-6 (Utica, Kentucky: McDowell Publications, 1986), 6: 25)]. "Johnathan Garrison was b. Feb 8, 1774 d. the year 1842 and the 22 of July. In the year of Our Lord 1777, Mary Garrison was b. Dec 17, 1816 and 12 day of May."
On 22 September 1798, Jonathan Garrison and his wife Mary (Maria Six) and some of her siblings sign over a parcel of property to her brother Henry Six that was part of her father's Conrad Six' estate. The document is in Washington Co, PA, but the property is in what is now Greene Co, PA.
On 10 July 1817 Jonathan marries Hannah Johns in Butler Co, OH.
Preble Co in 1835 Book 1, p 295, Mary Leser to Jonathan Garretson. 5 February 1835.
Family story is that Jonathan had 27 children by the first two wives and none by the third one. Twenty-two of the children are delineated in a Butler Orphan's Court document from the May Term of 1845 when Henry Garrison is trying to obtain all of Jonathan's property from his siblings. Thanks to cousins Brian and Don, we have tracked all but William.
We do not know he is buried in Elk Creek Cemetery but his first two wives are as well as son Martin and daughter Margaret Bake.
His seventh child with Mary Sykes was George Garrison who according to one report had middle names of Dellinger, Blosser, Hoover, and Washington. There are George's in the family with last names Dellinger, Blosser and Hoover.
The last and twelfth child with Mary Sykes was Jacob.
The fifth child with Hannah Johns was Joseph M. Garrison (29 Nov 1825, Butler Co to 9 Dec 1865 Butler Co) (memorial 77014338) married Mary Ann Houser.
