DOROTHY V. (BEVEROTH) KLITZ, 79, of Morrison, died Friday at Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Morrison. The service will be preceded by a 10:45 a.m. family prayer service in the church chapel. The Rev. Mike Winkelman, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.
She was born May 26, 1924, in Morrison to Herman E.A. and Amelia Machamer Beveroth. She married Jess L. Klitz on Feb. 11, 1942, in Morrison. She was educated in the Mount Pleasant Township Rural Center School in Whiteside County, Ill. She was engaged in farming with her husband in rural Sterling, Ill. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Morrison where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society, served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Morrison Garden Club and was a Morrison Community Hospital Pink Lady volunteer for 20 years. She also was a member of the former Merry Circle Club in Mount Carroll, Ill.
Survivors include her husband; three sisters, Mrs. Marian (Henry) Meinsma of Fulton, Ill., Mrs. Onlie (Charles) Walmsley of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Lois (Robert) Kelley of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two brothers, Herman (Leora) Beveroth of Sterling and Herbert (Judith) Beveroth of Rock Falls, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Virginia Beveroth of Morrison; one brother-in-law, Herbert Badtke of Morrison.
