Hurschel Goff was the son of Levander Polk and Sarah V. (Brim) Goff. His father was the adopted son of Ambers Carroll and Mary Catherine (Neely) Goff. According to some researchers, Levander Goff's biological father may have been a man named Brock. Exactly who he was is not known but the Brock family may be the biological linage of Hurschel Goff.

Hurschel Goff married Mamie E. Oliver in about 1909. Two sons were born to them:

James Cecil Goff Sr -- Born: Oct. 15, 1887, Belton, Bell County, Texas - Married Lucy Edna Hill, abt 1929 in McLennan County, Texas - Died: 1940, McLennan County, Texas

L. P. Goff -- Born: Dec. 26, 1912, Texas - Married #1. Hazel Paige before 1935 in McLennan County, Texas (one child born) - Married #2, Beulah E. Harris, Oct. 4, 1969 in McLennan County, Texas (No known children) - Died: Nov. 1983, McLennan County, Texas.
